This interactive website explores the growing issue of lunar space debris. Users can navigate a 3D Moon model surrounded by color-coded debris, track its rise over 60 years with a range slider, and see real-time TLE data mapping orbital paths. Historical lunar missions add context to the narrative.
Hand-coded in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Case Study: Unlike Earth's orbit, where satellites and debris are closely observed, lunar space lacks dedicated tracking infrastructure, making it difficult to rely solely on statistics or visuals to understand the full scale of the problem. This website bridges that gap by visualizing the hidden reality of lunar space debris, offering an interactive way to explore how it has accumulated over time and why it poses a growing risk to future missions.
1961 (7 junks): President John F. Kennedy proposed a manned lunar program.1968 (17 junks): NASA's Apollo 8 made the first crewed flight to the moon, circling it 10 times before returning to Earth.1998 (1,320 junks): NASA's Lunar Prospector mission launched.2013 (2,835 junks): NASA's Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) investigated the lunar atmosphere and dust.
